Work For Widows has built a foundation of hope for abandoned and widowed women in Sri Lanka. Our goal is not to help these women and children survive but to help them thrive. Our team supply the women with the materials they need to make their products, the training they require and the marketplace to sell their products in. We strive to ensure that all the women in our program earn far above the poverty level that has become an acceptable earning cap in developing nations. Our small staff and volunteers in Colombo, Sri Lanka work to provide raw materials and design ideas and our smaller team of volunteers in Canada and the UK sell the women’s finished products.
