The Pieces For Peace Project was designed to teach the ethnic women of Sri Lanka that although their cultures are different, their fears, worries, hopes and dreams are the same and that through their knowing one another, hatred can be eliminated and friendship can be born.

With the kind generosity of CIDA - Canada Fund and the continual support of Mr. Foster Friess through his wonderful organization Friends of Foster along with a donation from Baur’s Foundation of Switzerland, this program brings women from the north-eastern region of Ampara and the southern region of Matara together to earn a living and learn of each other.
